Class Transmogrification. It gives you a bit more space to play with as you can stand a few more yards away from enemies. This talent is really just used as a filler. Another very powerful talent.

This talent is decent and another one that can be used as a filler. Flamestrike is a decent AoE spell, so buffing it is nice, but it won't have much if any impact on your DPS.

Good talent that is a key part of the Fire Mage fantasy. It is useful in PvE for its massive damage, but should only really be used as a strong opener if the tank is able to keep aggro afterward. This talent is mainly picked for its Threat Reduction.

As a Fire Mage, you will be dealing a ton of damage, which cause a lot of Threat. This helps reduce the Threat caused and makes it easier for tanks to keep aggro. Very good talent in PvE. This increases the damage dealt by your Fire spells, which is incredibly useful for boss fights.

In raids, it is likely that one Mage will have the job to always keep this debuff up on bosses so the other Mages are able to maximize their damage. This talent is practically useless. Good talent for PvE.

This talent helps Mages with Mana issues, allowing them to spend more time casting rather than trying to regenerate Mana. The first new Fire talent added in TBC. Strong damage increase. This talent increases damage through increased Critical Strike chance. Fire Mages benefit greatly from critical hits, so this talent should always be picked. This is a solid AoE damage talent. It's not super useful and more of a filler choice, but does help burst down large groups of enemies.

This could be a very useful talent for PvP, allowing Mages to escape from sticky situations. However, with it being so far down the Fire tree, it has little use. This should always be taken as more damage is always good! Another amazing TBC addition. Pyromaniac does 2 great things for Mages, increases crit chance and reduces Mana cost of Fire spells. A simple yet hugely important talent. One of the best Mage talents. This is a big damage increase that helps you get more critical strikes and critical strikes are a Fire Mages best friend, thanks to other talents like Ignite and Master of Elements making them that much more valuable.

Should always be taken. Out of all the new TBC talents, this one may be the most powerful one. TBC just keeps on giving for Fire Mages, with another great damage boosting talent. This simply increases Fireball damage and as that is the main spell for Fire Mages, it's a must take.

Unfortunately, the final talents of Mage's TBC trees are a bit underwhelming. Dragon's Breath is a cool spell with an awesome animation, but other than adding a bit more AoE damage, it's not all that useful. This means it's not vital, but can still be taken for a bit of instant AoE damage.

This talent is only useful against Frost Mages in PvP. It is not worth taking simply because it does not have any effect anywhere else. This is a great talent that provides more damage as less casting time means more DPS. Unsure how to post? Check out our handy guide! Simply browse for your screenshot using the form below.
