Will there be a new crash game

As such, Crash Bandicoot Worlds is very sensible. The fact that these older franchises are coming back in a big way is exciting for children of the '90s. The 3D platformer is having a bit of a moment, between Yooka-Laylee and the recent remakes, so the new content that seems to be heading gamers' way is exciting. Peter Parker's adventure into the metaverse could have been so much more. A mainline sequel seems the least likely option for a release, though the announcement of such a project for a release alongside an anniversary game would be a smart move for the publisher.

There's also the Super Smash Bros. If there were ever a time for such a momentous development for the bandicoot, it would be his 25th anniversary. Crash now has a significant presence on the Nintendo Switch, and it would make sense for both Nintendo and Activision to make his appearance in Smash possible.

The fact that Lex Lang is working on the mystery project reveals that Cortex is involved, and if the big secret is that Crash will make it to Smash , then perhaps Cortex will be featured in the game. The most likely release for is probably the long-rumored Wumpa League. This multiplayer Crash title has been hotly discussed ever since the discovery of an easter egg in Crash 4, a mysterious logo currently believed to be related to the game.

This isn't the first time players have heard rumors about a new Crash Bandicoot game being somewhat in development, as back in it was rumored that a brand-new Crash Bandicoot title would be coming to the Nintendo Switch. With the three year development period mentioned above, this could theoretically still be the same project, now possibly being re-tooled to appear as either a PlayStation 5 exclusive title or as a cross-platform release. While an enticing idea, fans should definitely not get their hopes up until official marketing material for this theoretical new Crash Bandicoot game on the PlayStation 5 arrives.

As players get closer to the planned release of the PS5 and Xbox Series X this holiday season, they will likely see dozens, if not hundreds, of such leaks in the coming months, and it will take a keen eye and strong will to not be misled by something just because it sounds like it would be really, really fun to play.

Until word about a PlayStation 5 version of Crash Bandicoot comes from Sony 's mouth, it would be best to not get anyone's hopes up.
